From 17 to 19 January, 2017 the 4th Project Meeting was held in Piraeus, Greece, in conjunction with the Mid-scale Demonstration in MS Thomson Spirit in the port of Piraeus. The demonstration was a huge success.
Thanks to Celestyal Cruises and Thomson Spirit's staff, the Lynceus2Market technical-oriented consortium members' committed teams and the Project's Technical Manager Dr. Antonis Kalis, who efficiently coordinated the technical efforts, the results were more than satisfactory. This gives the team, the necessary strength to proceed to the next, more challenging goal: Royal Caribbean's Rhapsody of the Seas.
The minute we hit the emergency button we were able to have a clear view of the ship's situation. Passengers, crew, children were all shown on screen. We were able to see how many people had moved to Muster Stations, how many had boarded on the life boats, and where we should send our search teams.
Onboard safety made easier for the Captain and the safety officers.
What is so special about the life-jackets? Once you wear them, you are safer not only onboard, but overboard too.
That’s why JRCC (Joint Rescue Coordination Center) Larnaca is proud to be the first to test the new Lynceus overboard localization system
RTD Talos is proud to be the Coordinator of Lynceus2Market project.
The Lynceus2Market project receives funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under Grant Agreement No. 636286.
