Dr. Demetris Eliades is a seasoned professional with over 30 years of experience in the telecoms sector in Cyprus, Greece and the UK. He is experienced in strategizing, designing and developing new businesses.
Dr. Eliades holds a BEng First Class Honors degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering (1987) and a PhD in Propagation of Electromagnetic Waves (1991) from the University of Birmingham, an MBA with Distinction from Warwick Business School (2006) and a Postgraduate Diploma on Investments Appraisal and Management (1999) from the Harvard Institute of International Development. In 1998 he became a Member of ETEK and in 1999 a Member of the Institute of Engineering & Technology (MIET) and a Chartered Engineer (CEng) with the Engineering Council of UK.
During his PhD studies he worked as a research fellow at the University of Birmingham/British Telecom Research Labs from 1987-1992.
In 1992 he joined Cyta and since then he worked as an engineer, investments analyst and project manager in various inland and overseas projects. He has coordinated multi-professional due diligence teams for the evaluation and development of a number of telecom projects and has appraised numerous ongoing companies and investments proposals. He has also extended experience in product development coordination, management of corporate strategic projects and regulatory issues.
Dr. Eliades has also served as an elected Treasurer/Member of the Management Committee of Cyta Employees Pension Fund for two consecutive turns (2014-2018) and from 2019-2020.
In July 2023, Dr. Demetris Eliades joint RTD Talos as the Director of the Private Sector Projects Department.
